Bangkok baby, your 50-day adventure begins! So you've made it to this lively and vibrant city. On the first day, you have time to settle in and relax, wash off the stresses of travelling, get to know the rest of your group, also known as TruFam, and explore the area. Maybe you'll check out some markets or try some street food, whatever you fancy! In the evening, it's time for our welcome dinner at one of our favourite restaurants on Khao San Road! Get to know your fellow travellers over a bucket or two (or another drink of your choice). Holiday mode is on and I'm warning you, you'll never want to switch it off again!
Activities: We pick you up at the airport
Start the day at one of Bangkok's famous floating markets, and yes, you read that right - a floating market. Hop on a longtail boat and discover the variety of goods on offer, from clothing and local handicrafts to souvenirs and even household goods! We continue to Kanchanaburi, where we take another boat trip. This time to see the famous bridge over the River Kwai (yes, you remember the film, right?). What's more, we'll be there for sunset, so don't forget your camera for that envy-inducing photo! Just an hour away from Kanchanaburi is the majestic Erawan Falls, where we'll spend the next day. Dive into one of the many pools and enjoy a delicious lunch. Perfection. That's an action-packed couple of days, and next up is a visit to the ancient capital of Ayutthaya. A bike tour is the perfect way to explore this World Heritage Site and see the stunning temples. Camera at the ready, TruFam!

Once you arrive in Chiang Mai after your overnight stay, you'll have time to relax. There's so much to see and do in Chiang Mai, but don't worry, we've got it all planned for you! Firstly, we'll admire the view from Wat Pra Maha Doi Sutthep, a temple high up in the mountains where you'll literally feel on top of the world! Next, we head to a local village homestay. A short hike through the jungle leads us to this unique experience, where we spend the night in harmony with the locals and learn more about the traditional farmers of the area. A traditional home-cooked meal awaits us, prepared by the local village family. A TruExclusive like no other. After saying goodbye to our new friends, we travel down the river in style on bamboo rafts, keeping an eye out for waterfalls and elephants along the way. We end our time in Chiang Mai with an adrenaline rush as we zipline through the lush green jungle!
Note: The hike does not require a particularly high level of physical fitness, but can be challenging. You definitely deserve the beers we enjoy later in Chiang Mai!

Here's some "el-ler" fun coming your way! Before travelling to Pai for 3 nights, we visit an elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai. Animal welfare is very important to us at Tru, so we visit a sanctuary where elephants can roam freely and are not used for entertainment purposes. Learn more about the elephants that live here and you'll have the opportunity to feed them one of their many meals a day. Did you know that elephants normally eat 16 hours a day? What a life! Just a few hours away from Chiang Mai is Pai. THE backpacking hotspot in the north! Unusual bars and top-class street food await you! Spend the next few days in hot springs, chasing waterfalls and marvelling at the sunset at Pai Canyon. We definitely deserve those evening beers and drinks (or mornings or afternoons, the choice is yours, you're on holiday after all). Take a whole day to relax by the pool after an action-packed few days!

Are you ready to set off fireworks in the kitchen? We return to Chiang Mai for another 2 nights and explore this crazy city by night. But first, it's cooking time! We'll join a local Thai cookery class to learn how to slice and dice some of Thailand's most delicious traditional dishes. Who knows, maybe you'll be the next Gordon Ramsey in the making! Did you know that Chiang Mai also has its own Grand Canyon? An artificial lagoon park that has been transformed into a playground for adults, where we will spend the next day. We will spend the day sliding and sliding, relaxing in the warm water or spending the day on a tyre! Backpackers paradise. After 2 amazing weeks in Northern Thailand, it's time to head back to Bangkok and get some sleep on an overnight train. Have you really experienced Thailand if you haven't travelled on a sleeper train? In Bangkok, we explore the city by tuk tuk and the famous Thai longtail boats. Temples and tantalising views are on the programme. In the evening, we'll head to one of Tru's personal favourite restaurants and try some of Bangkok's most colourful cocktails!

Goodbye city life, hello islands! Khao Sok National Park awaits us as we take a short train journey to paradise. The floating bungalows in Khao Sok National Park are calling us! Some of the most breathtaking scenery you've ever seen awaits you here - lush, limestone cliffs surrounded by an emerald green lake. It's almost like something out of Jurassic Park (minus the dinosaurs, of course). Relax by the lake with a book, while away the day with a beer in hand or spend the day swimming and diving with your TruFam. Khao Sok offers one of the best sunsets in Thailand, so grab a kayak and explore the surroundings. In the evening, sit down to a delicious Thai buffet at the floating restaurant. We'd say it doesn't get much better than this, but Thailand is the gift that keeps on giving!

Swap jungle lake views for beach bungalows as you travel to one of our favourite beaches in the world - Bottle Beach! Our exclusive Tru experience in the south of Thailand. This golden sandy beach is only accessible by boat, so practically only TruFam members are here. Sit back and relax as today you'll spend the day swimming in the water, relaxing on the beach with a cocktail in hand before dinner, drinks and a beach bonfire show hosted by us Tru-ly! After a leisurely morning, you'll try your hand at Thailand's national sport! Muay Thai. This afternoon you'll work up a sweat as we attend a traditional Muay Thai class! Next stop - the legendary Koh Phangan. During the day we sail and snorkel on white sandy beaches and at night, well, Koh Phangan is known for its crazy party scene! Let your hair down, show off the crazy dance moves you learnt from TikTok or just dance wildly. Koh Phangan is a beauty, and we'll show you the best bits!

Paradise is calling us, and we are answering! Our next destination: the magical island of Koh Tao! Koh Tao means "turtle island" and is famous for its breathtaking underwater world, beautiful beaches and laid-back atmosphere. It's only fitting that we see what this place is all about. Our first full day will be dedicated to snorkelling in the turquoise waters while keeping an eye out for a turtle or two and visiting the beautiful island of Koh Nang Yuan! The waters are populated by colourful fish and coral, so jump in and have a look around. Don't forget your GoPro camera! The next day is all about relaxation. Use the day to explore the island, enjoy the beach or visit a breathtaking viewpoint nearby. In the evening we head west! We will take a ferry crossing. Fall asleep to the sounds of the waves and wake up when we arrive on one of Thailand's famous islands, Koh Phi Phi!

Another idyllic island. Another day in tropical paradise with the TruFam and it just keeps getting better and better. Koh Phi Phi is home to even more fabulous viewpoints, white sandy beaches and of course beach bars! Life is spent on the beaches when we visit Koh Phi Phi. So enjoy today to your heart's content. One thing's for sure: we'll be dancing our flip-flops under the stars as we explore Koh Phi Phi's famous nightlife. Question... Who loves Leo? And no, we don't mean the Thai beer. Although we love that too. We mean Leonardo DiCaprio. Today you'll be walking in his footsteps for a day. After a relaxing morning, we'll hop on a boat to visit a stunningly beautiful place called Maya Bay, made famous by Leo's famous film "The Beach", which was shot here many years ago. CRASS, right? Don't worry, that's our fame too. Afterwards, we'll stop for snorkelling, swimming and to visit some beautiful places nearby. We'll watch the sunset on board, reflect on a fantastic few weeks in Thailand before heading to our final destination - Phuket!

Thailand - ticked off! This epic tour combines three fantastic countries, and it's time to say goodbye to Thailand and hello to Cambodia! Spend the first day in Siem Reap to relax and unwind. On the second day, meet your new TruFam joining you for Cambodia and then you're off! First stop: Pub Street! A whole street lined with weird and wonderful food stalls, bright neon lights and a variety of bars filled with backpackers! The perfect place to meet your new TruTravellers. You'll spend the next two days learning about rural life in Cambodia, stepping into the shoes of a local farmer, joining our local guide in his family home and enjoying a sunset BBQ in the countryside. We really immerse ourselves in the real Cambodia. There is no more spectacular place in the world than experiencing the sunrise at Angkor Wat. Marvel at the ancient architecture and temples as the deep orange sun rises behind them. The Angkor Wat is the largest religious monument in the world, and we take the time to learn about the history and significance of this beautiful temple complex.

Lunch & Dinner
The capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh, awaits us. We'll check in, freshen up and have dinner by the riverside - the choice is yours! Phnom Penh harbours an extremely important and moving piece of Cambodian history, and if there's one place everyone should visit once in their life, it's the Killing Fields and S21 Prison. It may not be an easy day, but it is an important day. We take the time to learn about the genocide that cost millions of lives and we visit a prison where the Khmer Rouge held 17,000 prisoners, few of whom survived. This is a huge part of Cambodian history that has shaped the country today, so it is important that we come to terms with it. After an emotional day, the evening is at your leisure.
Dinner on the riverbank, Killing fields & S21
Today we leave the city and travel to the river town of Kampot for a few days. First stop: Arcadia Water Park! Giant water slides, rope swings, kayaks and "The Blob" await us! Spend the day sliding and swimming or just relaxing in the water! It's a wet and wild day and the perfect opportunity to pause for a moment and enjoy life. Another day, another epic experience, and our second day in Kampot is spent at a local pepper plantation where we learn all about growing the famous Kampot pepper. We will then use this knowledge to prepare a delicious Khmer dish in a traditional cookery class. Come on, you must be a pro now, right?

They say you haven't seen beauty until you've seen this place, and they're right (Koh) Rong. We return to island life. Pristine white sandy beaches, clear turquoise waters, palm trees and beach huts along the shore and boats lazily bobbing in the bay. Spend an afternoon in hammocks over the ocean, hire a kayak or paddleboard, take the perfect photo on the famous sea swings or laze on the beach with a cocktail in hand. We have a full day of exploring ahead of us as we board a longtail boat, snorkel amongst the colourful corals and try to catch the fish we'll be eating for lunch! Our freshly caught BBQ lunch will be served on a secluded beach, with only TruFam under the sun. A perfect lunch for a perfect day. Afterwards we return to the island to spend our last night in paradise!

Cambodia, you've been an absolute dream, but it's time to get ready for 2 unforgettable weeks in the last country of our big adventure - Vietnam! Enjoy a rest day in Phnom Penh before crossing the border and joining your travelling ninja in Ho Chi Minh City. We have the opportunity to learn more about Vietnam's colourful past at the Ho Chi Minh War Museum and the Cu Chi Tunnels. Despite its past, Ho Chi Minh City is one of Asia's most interesting cities with some of the best street food in the country and an exciting nightlife. We have plenty of time for banh mi (a delicious Vietnamese sandwich) and beer before flying to Hoi An.
Note: As this tour consists of several tours, other participants may join you in Ho Chi Minh City.

Wake up in the beautiful city of Hoi An. We don't even know where to start describing this incredible city. You have to see it to believe it, you know? Best known for its glowing lanterns, incredible tailoring services and the stunning river that runs right through the centre. Hoi An is actually a UNESCO World Heritage Site and we're going to see it all! We'll try our luck making our own Vietnamese lanterns and pay a visit to our local tailor to see how they make customised sustainable clothing. They will also give us a unique, reusable and sustainable TruTravels tote bag made from fabric scraps. A lovely gift and perfect for future adventures! We cycle inland and to the villages, stopping at the coconut groves. We go on a basket boat trip! Laugh your head off on one of these crazy traditional boats used for crab fishing. Paddle along the river and enjoy the forest. We stop for lunch with a local family before returning to experience Hoi An by night. There is still plenty of time for riverside walks, delicious street food to be found on every corner and to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of Hoi An.

Named one of the best coastal roads in the world and made famous by the maniacs of Top Gear, be prepared for some of the most magnificent scenery you'll ever see on the journey to Hue as we travel in open-top jeeps along the famous Hai Van Pass. Once in Hue, we will explore the ancient imperial city and drive along the Perfume River to a tranquil garden where we will have a proper cookout! Are you ready for the last cooking class of the trip? By now you're absolute pros and know how to prepare top-notch dishes from all three countries that will seriously impress your friends back home. We drive on to Ninh Binh. Known as "Halong Bay on land", Ninh Binh is breathtakingly beautiful with emerald green forests and endless rice paddies. We board small boats to paddle through pristine caves and small islands before visiting Tam Coc Valley and later arriving at the incredible Hang Mua viewpoint. With 500 steps to the top, you know it's going to be great, so we take a few (100) snaps and then return for dinner, beers and a beautiful sunset over the mountains.

After waking up among the limestone cliffs and emerald green waters of magical Halong Bay, we travel to our final destination, Hanoi. Hanoi is a lively city with plenty to see and do. We start by sampling a traditional egg coffee and learning how to make this delicacy. The rest is up to you - stroll through the Old Quarter, the beautiful Hanoi Opera House or the countless other mega-snackable places in the city. In the evening, we get dressed up for our last big night out and it's time to say goodbye. It's crazy to think that the trip is over. 50 days of crazy, mind-bending, unbelievably fantastic fun, and we hope you had the absolute best time of your lives. Allow yourselves to be sad to leave, but think of the lifelong friends you've made along the way, and know that you are now a permanent member of the TruFam. Don't be strangers, and we're sure we'll see each other again very soon!
