Welcome to Johannesburg! We will pick you up at the airport and take you to our hotel. You'll have time to relax before meeting your new friends, and in the evening we'll take in the sights of JoBurg together and look forward to the adventures ahead.

This morning we explore the town of Soweto to learn more about the turbulent history of the region. We delve deeper into the history of South Africa's struggle and visit the beautifully designed Apartheid Museum or Mandela's house, depending on availability. Later we go out for a few drinks in one of the best bars in town. (F)

We set off early towards Kruger National Park and make our way along the famous Panorama Route to see some of Africa's most unique landscapes before checking into our accommodation. (F)
Accommodation: Mogodi Lodge
After breakfast, we make our way to Kruger National Park, where we hope to spot our first wildlife on the way to our unique campsite in a remote corner of the park. Tonight we'll put our skills to the test and help the chefs prepare a traditional South African braai (BBQ dinner), a hearty feast (vegetarian options available) that will get us ready for tomorrow's safari! Today we'll be on the lookout for herds of mighty elephant, rhino, buffalo, prides of lion and lurking leopard, and our expert guides will ensure we have the best experience possible. Tonight, our guide will explain the history of our dinner, known as a braai; a traditional South African barbecue, before we spend the night gazing up at an infinite starry sky.

The tiny landlocked state of Eswatini awaits us as we cross the border to enter Hlane Royal National Park, a protected area teeming with wildlife and diverse Swazi ecosystems. Didn't see your favourite animals yesterday? No problem! This afternoon we have another chance to spot unique animals on a sunset game drive. As the sun sets, the grasslands turn golden in colour, and tonight we gather around the campfire to watch the rangers perform their traditional Swazi style drumming and whistling song and dance. (F)

Re-entering South Africa, we head south to the Pongolapoort Nature Reserve, passing more breathtaking scenery. Enjoy an unforgettable visit to a local village where we will explore traditions, visit a crèche and watch a traditional Zulu dance. In the evening we will enjoy a delicious braai and relax with games around the campfire.

This morning we visit a local Zulu village before travelling to the coast and checking into our beach hut. In the afternoon we can relax on the beach or by the pool. Tonight we treat ourselves to bunny chow, a South African fast food dish which is basically a loaf of bread filled with curry. A must! (F, A)

An early start this morning as we take a short flight to Cape Town, a picturesque city with world-class beaches, impressive architecture, vibrant nightlife and much more. Later, we climb Table Mountain (weather permitting, alternative activity in winter) to enjoy breathtaking views over the city. This evening we explore the V&A Waterfront to stroll, shop and enjoy the view. (F)

Today we take a tour of Bo-Kaap, a neighbourhood known for its colourful houses and Cape Malay culture. The tour continues to the Houses of Parliament, the Town Hall, the Slave Lodge, the District 6 Museum, the Slave Lodge, the Castle and the Cape Town Stadium. We end the day with a cocktail in hand as we watch the sunset. (F)

Get ready for a full-day adventure around the dramatic Cape Peninsula, exploring beaches and sheer cliffs that drop into the Atlantic Ocean. In the beautiful fishing town of Hout Bay, we'll stop off for a boat cruise where we can get up close to a thousand-strong colony of wild fur seals basking in the sun, unfazed by our presence. After lunch, we explore Chapman's Peak, the nature reserve at the Cape of Good Hope, and encounter a colony of wild African penguins on Boulders beach. Tonight we celebrate our farewell in a cool, unusual restaurant! (B)
