When you land in Split, we will pick you up at the airport and take you to our hostel in the old town. There you'll have plenty of time to freshen up before meeting the rest of the group. Tonight we'll get our first taste of the laid-back Mediterranean lifestyle when we go out for dinner and drinks.
This morning we get an insight into Croatia's fascinating history on a walking tour of Split. After soaking up the Roman heritage, we board our premium ship at lunchtime - our home for the next 7 nights. It has spacious cabins with en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning, and several sun decks where we can top up our tan... The island hopping lifestyle awaits us! On the Dalmatian coast, we have our first three-course dinner on board and then jump straight into our first swimming stop. Arriving in Makarska, a town surrounded by beautiful mountains and long beaches, we have plenty of time to explore the town this evening. (M)
Today we sail to Mljet, a quiet sheltered island in the heart of the Adriatic. Our boat anchors in a secluded bay and familiarises us with the Croatian routine - swim, eat, explore, repeat. After another feast of local food (e.g. grilled meat and fresh vegetables), our boat will dock in town so we can explore the national park by bike. This evening we will dress up for the captain's dinner, enjoy dinner and have a few drinks on deck. (F, M)
While we nap, our boat will head to Dubrovnik, which is on our bucket list. Dubrovnik, which sits elegantly on the Adriatic Sea, is famous for its magnificent walled old town and many Games of Thrones filming locations, of course! To see it all, we take a guided tour of the city and then a kayak tour to enjoy the view from the water. After the sun has set, we eat at a local restaurant before exploring Dubrovnik's bars and clubs. Fancy partying in a fortress? (F, M)
From Dubrovnik we drift along olive trees and vineyards while our captain finds a hidden bay for us to anchor in. Practice your flips, go snorkelling, enjoy an ice cold Ozujsko, it's another hard day in paradise ;) Later in the afternoon we moor in the picturesque fishing village of Trstenik. Famous for its wine, we stroll through the sun-drenched streets and experience Croatia at its most authentic. (F, M, A)
After another stay at sea, we dock today in Korcula, one of Croatia's charming island towns. Surrounded by walls, paved with marble and centred around a stunning 15th century cathedral, Korcula is a mini-Dubrovnik without the tourists. We'll show you the sights, and the balmy summer afternoon is yours to explore the Venetian Old Town. Foodies will love the elegant restaurants on the outskirts of the city, and for those who like cocktails, there are plenty of sunset bars to be found. (F, M)
You know how it goes - first we stop for a swim and lunch on board, then this afternoon we head to the glamorous town of Hvar. A playground for the rich and famous, where super yachts meet Renaissance architecture. We rise above terracotta rooftops, climb the Spanish Fortress and enjoy one of the best views in Croatia before heading to a trendy beach club. Sunset on the horizon, tropical beats in the air - now we're fully immersed in the island's vibe. Many clubs are open until the early hours of the morning. If you want to party the night away, Hvar is the place to be. (F, M)
Today is our last day of sailing, but there's plenty more mainland action to come! On the way back, we stop in Bol to visit Croatia's most famous beach. Zlatni Rat, an elegant beach with white pebbles that slopes into the sea. This afternoon we drive to Split. There we are greeted with a breathtaking view of the Riviera. Whether you want to stroll along the promenade, buy a souvenir at the market or explore more Game of Thrones filming locations, the afternoon is yours. (F, M)
After a final breakfast on board, we say goodbye to our crew and head to the famous Krka waterfalls. This beautiful landscape under the Croatian sun is the perfect way to end our journey. Back in Split, we end our journey tonight with a farewell dinner and toast to the incredible time we have had. (F)
Your Croatian adventures have to come to an end at some point, but with a golden tan and friends for life, there are worse ways to end a trip. Those flying home can make their way to the airport or continue living the dream and stay in Croatia and the Balkans even longer.
