We could tell you that the Philippines is home to more beauty than can be found in an issue of National Geographic, or that the sand is so golden you'll have to put on your sunglasses to see straight. But hey, you have to experience the western Philippines for yourself! Dive into the legendary, crystal-clear waters of Palawan, swim under waterfalls in Port Barton or learn the local customs with an off-the-beaten-track cooking class at our exclusive Isla Experience in El Nido.
Visit Coron and relax with sand between your toes or dive deep to explore the local shipwrecks. Whatever your thing, you'll find epic fun, lifelong new friends and an authentic experience that only TruTravels can provide on this 10-day island hopping tour.

You've made it! You're here and it's time to start your journey of a lifetime! Sit back (it's been a long journey and you deserve it). We're giving everyone time to relax, settle in and of course surf the web! You've arrived in paradise, so update your Insta story to let everyone know you're actually in the Philippines! Later, you'll meet your guide and the rest of your group (soon to be TruFam) for welcome drinks and dinner, where you'll make the first of many incredible memories! After a few Red Horses (that's the local beer of the Philippines by the way, not a fictional animal roaming the streets) we'll head out to explore the city. Day one in the Philippines, you'll already know you've made the best decision of your life.
Activities: Welcome Dinner
Is it a bird? Is it an aeroplane? Well, yes, it is a plane, but a plane full of new backpackers on their way to Puerto Princesa, the gateway to Palawan, also known as paradise, or rather, what dreams are really made of! We'll be travelling in private minivans, yes, that's how we roll, private, exclusive, whatever you want to call it. We are driven to the idyllic and unspoilt fishing town of Port Barton. Along the way, we'll stop to have lunch with a local family, sample local dishes and gain an understanding of a different way of life. Hey, there might even be a giant coconut to drink (or three). After checking into our beachfront hotel in Port Barton, you can enjoy the first of many idyllic Filipino sunsets, drink in hand, before we head out for dinner!

Lunch with a local family
Wake up, have you seen the colour of the water outside? today we're getting on a traditional banca boat. Grab your snorkel, mask and swimming trunks and dive into some of the most beautiful spots in Palawan. Look out for turtles, the rainbow-coloured reefs and if you get the chance, re-enact your best Bond Girl or Guy scene. Daniel Craig can't be there, but your TruNinja has better moves anyway. We break up the island hopping for a local style lunch and have a few hours of free time to relax in this beautiful place. The time is yours, dreamy gushing optional! After a magical day, we sail back to Port Barton in style, where we freshen up before visiting some of the best bars and restaurants in town!

Breakfast & Lunch
Sing with us! The main attraction of Palawan, the Brad Pitt/Margot Robbie of the Philippines, if you will - EL NIDO! After today, every place you visit will be compared to this, the sheer beauty of it all. We start day 4 of your TruTravels trip with the journey to paradise. We arrive at lunchtime and after settling into our accommodation in El Nido, we grab dinner in the evening and explore some local bars with a great party atmosphere. El Nido is also known for having one of the best sunsets in the world. It really doesn't get any better than this.
Breakfast
Day 5 and we are alive! Today we'll experience the world-famous island hopping that made El Nido famous! We'll be hopping to some of the best spots in the region, including the stunning lagoons of Bacuit Bay (a mystery beach we can't really talk about), all surrounded by friendships you'll never want to miss out on now. Hire a kayak and show off your Olympic paddling skills or grab your snorkelling gear and dive down to create your own Ariel the Mermaid sequel. You'll never want to leave, but we'll return to the hotel before sunset to have some time to relax before meeting up later to eat, drink and reminisce about a truly once-in-a-lifetime day.
Snorkelling & Island Hopping
Breakfast & Lunch
Time to explore El Nido by land! We start our day with a Mission Impossible-esque zipline experience. We'll zip from beach to beach and enjoy these incredible views that are sure to get your adrenaline pumping. After an adrenaline-fuelled morning, we'll head to Nacpan Beach, one of the most famous pristine beaches in the Philippines, lined with lush palm trees that might make you doubt reality. There will certainly be time for beach fun.

Breakfast & Dinner
Ready for a truly unique experience? After a jam-packed day, head to Daracotan Island, a TruExclusive where you'll begin your own Castaway Isla experience! We don't want to give too much away, but trust us when we say it's a lot more fun than playing dentist with an ice skate like poor Tom Hanks in Castaway (we encourage frequent shout-outs to WILSON during your stay). There's time to explore some shipwrecks before taking a guided tour of Daracotan Island, home to 88 full-time residents (including a pig or two). Hear fascinating stories about their heritage, meet a local family and learn how tourism is positively impacting their lives today. In the evening, we'll take part in a traditional local cooking demonstration where you'll learn how to eat Filipino style! Together we dine and savour the local delicacies we prepared just before and make a mental note to add "world-famous chef" to our CV when we return home. Now it's time to relax around the campfire with a few beers!

Breakfast, lunch & dinner
Enjoy a relaxing morning, you deserve it, and make the most of your last hours of happiness before we head back to the city of El Nido. Today we take the ferry to Coron, another world famous island in Palawan. Tonight is going to be big, it's party time, and we really hope you've brought some fancy shirts because we're going to do our best to really rock Coron!
Snorkelling, trip to Coron
Breakfast
It's our last day together with your TruFam! Lifelong friendships have been made, your TruNinja has gained a dozen adoring Insta-followers, and you'll start to reflect on the past life-changing week. We go on one last adventure, this time exploring Coron Island, including the incredibly beautiful Coron Bay and the mesmerising underwater mountains. In the afternoon we have fun on the beaches, jump into the sea and fill our hair with too much sand! Then we return for our final TruFam dinner and drinks before saying "Palaam" for now! That's "goodbye" in Filipino, but I'm sure you know that by now!

Breakfast & Lunch
Today we're checking out of the hotel and it's time to say goodbye. The TruFamily you've become over the last ten days will live longer than the turtle you saw on day three (remember them?). Whether you were the cheeky kid of the group, the mum who makes sure everyone wears sun cream or the fun-loving auntie who gets drunk every night. We will miss you! As your adventure continues, our TruNinjas will be happy to help you with any further travel plans. When you go home... It's emotional, it's changed your life, but most of all it's been an absolute pleasure to show you the Philippines. This is not goodbye, this is "see you soon"!
