Get off at MNL, which is the Manila airport code (in case you didn't know), and take our airport transfer (30 EUR). If you want to meet us directly at the hotel, that's no problem either. Check in, relax, put your feet up and unwind before meeting up with your new TruFam and your travelling ninja. (That's what we call our tour guides, not someone who karate chops your dinner every night.... I mean, they could if you ask nicely). We grab some dinner before heading to Makati! In one of Manila's liveliest cities, we'll show you some of the best bars. We can't promise you that we won't get a few "strangers" dancing, but we can promise you that you'll have a great time!
Activities: Welcome Dinner
Welcome to Palawan, formerly known as the gateway to heaven. We may have made that part up, but if you're looking for paradise, look no further! We start the day with a short flight to Puerto Princesa before being picked up in our private minivans. If you look up the word "unspoilt" in the dictionary, you'll see a picture of Port Barton as the definition. The small, idyllic fishing village is where we will spend the next few days of our tour. We stop to have lunch with a local family, sample some delicious Filipino food and chat about life in paradise. We check into our hotel on the beach, yes, we are fancy. With a beer in hand, you can watch the sunset before heading out for dinner and maybe even "sex on the beach"! We mean the drink, of course...
Activities: Flight to Puerto Princesa & transfer
Meals: Lunch with a local family
Island hopping in the Philippines is an experience like no other. We hop on a longtail boat and sail all day long. If you think you've seen it all, wait until you see the rainbow-coloured reefs of Palawan, the majestic turtles and the crystal-clear colour of the waves. Great Barrier what? Head to the golden sands and reenact your best Baywatch scene as you jog out of the water in slow motion. You've worked up an appetite after a shell of a good time, did you see what we did there? Because we saw turtles? No? Well then. We have lunch in a small fishing village. Afterwards, you have a few hours of free time in which you can form a human pyramid on the beach with your TruFam or top up your tan lines while sunbathing in your swimming trunks. You can spend the time however you like! Sailing in the Philippines is 10 out of 10! We head back to Port Barton where we freshen up and explore the best bars and restaurants in town!
Activities: Island hopping and snorkelling
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
That's right, we're going to El Nido, the main attraction of Palawan, the George Clooney of the Philippines, if you will. If you're looking for good vibes, good times and good beer, El Nido is the place for you. Stroll around town and do a bit of shopping before settling into your accommodation, getting your make-up done and having dinner with your now inseparable TruFam. El Nido is known for one of the best sunsets in the world, so grab your TruFam, an ice cold beer and savour this moment forever. It really is bloody magical.
Activities: Transfer by private van to El Nido
Meals: Breakfast
Day 5 and what a day it is! We hop on our famous traditional banca boats and go island hopping to some of the best places the island has to offer. Think crystal clear blue lagoons, kayaking with your new BFF and what can only be described as paradise. It's scientifically proven that a dip in the sea can cure pretty much any hangover. I mean, maybe not scientifically, but it's definitely a long-lasting Tru theory that we stand by. Grab your snorkel and dive down to experience the magic of the Philippine sea, or recharge your batteries sunbathing on the golden sands. We stop for a local lunch before heading back to the hotel around sunset. There we have some time to relax before meeting up with the TruFam for dinner.
Activities: Island hopping & snorkelling
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Time to explore El Nido by land! We start our day with a Mission Impossible-style zipline experience. We'll zip from beach to beach and enjoy the incredible views that will get your blood pumping. After an adrenaline-fuelled morning, we'll head to Nacpan Beach, one of the Philippines' most famous pristine beaches, lined with palm trees so lush you might doubt reality. The time on the beach will certainly not go to waste.
Activities: Beach & Ziplining
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Ready for a unique Tru experience? After a jam-packed day, we're off to Daracotan Island, a TruExclusive where you'll begin your Castaway Isla Experience! We don't want to give too much away, but trust us when we say it'll be a lot more fun than being your own dentist with a skate, like poor Tom Hanks in Castaway (we encourage frequent WILSON shouts during your stay). It's time to explore some shipwrecks before joining a guided tour to Daracotan Island, home to 88 full-time residents (including a pig or two). Hear fascinating stories about their heritage, meet a local family and learn how tourism is having a positive impact on their lives today. In the evening, we'll take part in a traditional cooking demonstration where you'll learn how to eat Filipino style! Over dinner together, we devour the local delicacies we have just prepared and make a mental note to add "world-famous chef" to our CVs when we get back home. Now it's time to round off the evening around the campfire with a few beers!
Activities: Beaches, shipwreck and culture
Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner
Enjoy a relaxing morning and savour the last few hours on the magical island that we have called home for the last few days. We snorkel or simply lie on the beach and get a tan before catching the ferry to Coron. After living the ultimate beach babe life, we head to Coron. Spend the afternoon relaxing or visiting the local shops. TIP - Take a smoothie with you, they're delicious. Recharge your batteries before you go into town. Unpack that shirt, your favourite floral dress or those linen trousers you've been lusting after for so long, because it's going out. Let's hear it! CO-RON! CO-RON! CO-RON! We thought it was catchy?
Activities: Transfer to Coron, snorkelling
Meals: Breakfast
After a wild night on the town, we got up to sail around Coron. We pulled out all the stops for you. Don't worry, the days just keep getting better and better. We landed on some of the most beautiful beaches in the world and sailed through turquoise lagoons. After a fun afternoon of burying your hungover TruTraveller in the sand, taking Instagram beach photos or doing handstands on the seabed, we sail back to Coron to freshen up for dinner.
Activities: Island hopping
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
We take a short flight to Cebu. Relax in the hotel, recover from the crazy days and use the good wifi to go through your photos from the last few days. Enough to make any group chat jealous. In the evening, let's go out for a few drinks!
Activities: Flight to Cebu
Meals: Breakfast
We pack our bags and head off to the coastal town of MoalBoal! I hope you've brought your appetite, because we're going to have lunch with the locals - lechon style! (for those of you who dare to try the local delicacy). With full bellies, full of energy and in a good mood, we make our way to the impressive Simala Church! It's like a Disney castle on steroids. It's breathtakingly beautiful and one thing you MUST see for yourself. The Simala Church has long been shrouded in myth that miracles happen here. So if you're looking for the next big Facebook investment or just want your crush to send you a WhatsApp back, this is the place for you. Like we said, miracles can happen here. After a tour and a quick history lesson, we head on to Moalboal, where we have the afternoon at leisure! Grab a coffee, spend far too much money on key rings and fridge magnets or treat yourself to a massage. After all, you're on holiday.
We got up early to explore the island of Moalboal. We're on our way to some of the best snorkelling spots in the Philippines. Get the sun cream ready because nobody likes a tan line under their snorkelling mask. You'll have the chance to see a rainbow of colourful coral reefs and marine life swimming around you. Pack the GoPro, because it's a great thing. TURTLES! If you've always dreamed of swimming with turtles in their natural habitat, then get your pen ready - WE'RE CROSSING IT OFF YOUR BUCKET LIST, BABY. There's something magical about swimming with our hard-shelled, old-fashioned and unproblematic green friends that will bring a tear of joy to anyone's eye. If you jump into the sea again later in the day, you've got something to look forward to! We take you to a place where this phenomenon only occurs in 2 places in the world. SARDINE RUN. Hundreds of thousands of sardines swim at the same time in a huge shoal. You wouldn't believe it until you saw it. Dive in and experience this spectacle up close, live the dream and film your best David Attenborough narration of this phenomenon. In the evening, we'll explore the nightlife and dance the night away!
Activities: sardine run, sea turtles, snorkelling
Meals: Breakfast
Wake up, let's go canyoning! You don't know what canyoning is? THEN LET ME EXPLAIN IT TO YOU! Imagine perfect, aqua blue waterfalls and add a bit of adrenaline to jump off anything and everything. This really is a once in a lifetime opportunity. If parkour 24/7 isn't your thing or you're still too hungover, you can also float down the river before reaching the falls and basking in the sun. Whatever your thing is, it's a SICK day! We end the day with a cosy evening to recharge the batteries before we head off to our next destination!
Activities: Canyoning & waterfalls
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Today we're off to Cebu airport for a short flight to Caticlan and then a 15-minute boat ride to the idyllic island of Boracay! Fasten your seatbelts, she's a beauty. It's known for its incredible nightlife and white sandy beaches. We can't promise you won't fall in love with the island and the vibe there. If you've ever had the urge to pack your bags and move to the other side of the world, well... Boracay might win you over too. We check into the hotel for our last 3 nights, so unpack your last pair of clean socks and that way too wrinkled shirt you've been saving to wear and settle in. We arrive in the late afternoon, so let's go exploring! The sunsets on Boracay are unique. We're talking an ombre of golden oranges fading into purples and deep violets. Yep, I-N-S-A-N-E. So we'll watch the sunset with a few beers on the beach or join a sunset cruise for cocktails. After that, we'll see where the night takes us. Psssttt... It will be one of the best cocktail bars on Boracay!
Activities: Flight to Boracay
Meals: Breakfast
Today you have a lazy morning, wake up when you want and have a fruit smoothie nearby. The morning and early afternoon are at leisure, so head to the beach to catch some rays, or hit the shops and buy some souvenirs for home. Or a postcard (we said you might want to move here and never come back!). In the late afternoon we go paraw sailing at sunset! Never heard of it? Paraw sailing is a local sailboat activity on Boracay where you sail quietly and smoothly with two outriggers and two sails to the best viewpoints and spots on the island. Thought last night's sunset was good? Wait until you see this one, TruFam! As the twinkling stars replace the sunset, we go out for dinner together and have a few beers. It's the penultimate evening... That's only right! Isn't it?
Activities: Beach day & paraw sailing
Meals: Breakfast
It's our last day together as the TruFam we have become. We are not crying, you are. As always, we end our journey on a high ... Did someone say BOAT PARTY?! We'll set sail, dance all day and take it all in one last time. We're all kind of professional beach goddesses by now, so grab your favourite snorkelling gear and jump straight into the tropical waters or better still, grab a buoyancy aid, kayak or paddle board and chill out while you reminisce about probably the best 16 days of your life. In the evening, we head off for a farewell dinner with cocktails at sunset. Our last hurrah, the final act of the show. One last performance and we won't end without a standing ovation! Dance on the tables, order 2 desserts or just have one too many drinks before telling each and every one of your TruFam how much you love them. Hey, we love you too!
Activities: Farewell evening
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
It's departure day and time to check out of the resort, and like any good friend, we can drop you off at the airport! After 17 epic days together, it feels more painful than Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake breaking up. We loved every minute of it. Goodbye isn't in our vocabulary because we're bad at it and there's nothing good about saying goodbye. SO WE SAY: SEE YOU NEXT TIME!
