Travel along the breathtaking coast of Peru to the oasis of Huacachina, where you can go sandboarding on the desert dunes while watching the sunset.
Dune buggies: Get your adrenaline rush in a dune buggy on the desert dunes, ride the ups and downs in these desert mountains. Strap yourself onto a board and try sandboarding, which sounds like snowboarding but on sand. Enjoy the softer landings and warmer temperatures. Afterwards, you can ride through the stunning dunes back to the Huacachina oasis and watch the sun set in the distance.

Wake up and make the most of your time in Huacachina before continuing your adventure to Nazca. In the morning you have time for an optional excursion to the Ballestas Islands, which are home to a lively colony of sea lions, pelicans and other birds. Later, take a bus to Nazca. Stop at a pisco cellar on the way and sample the country's national drink!
Visit to the Huacachina winery: learn more about wine and pisco production in the area and enjoy a tasting of different varieties, all of which are available for purchase.

Optionally, you can take a flight over the Nazca Lines before travelling to Arequipa by night bus. Free time at leisure.
Optional visit to the Santa Catalina monastery or the local thermal springs. If you are interested in history and architecture, you can optionally visit the Santa Catalina Monastery, which offers a short break from the outside world and a unique insight into life in times long past. Other optional excursions include rafting and mountain climbing. Time at leisure.

Enjoy a full-day tour into the Colca Canyon. Optionally, you can visit the local thermal springs. Look forward to an overnight trip to the impressive Colca Canyon - one of the deepest canyons in the world. We stop in fascinating villages and at „miradors“ (picturesque viewpoints) where visitors may be lucky enough to spot Andean condors circling above the majestic Andes. Other unusual animals that can be spotted in the Andean landscape include three different types of camel: Alpacas, llamas and vicuñas.

Make your way to the Sacred Valley today and visit the women's weaving workshop supported by G-Adventures in the municipality of Ccaccaccollo. Learn more about weaving and get to know the adorable llamas. If you see a knitted piece you like, buy it - a perfect souvenir of your trip. Stop off at a brewery on the way to Ollantaytambo and sample a craft beer.

Hike on the Inka or Lares Trail: Keep your heart rate up on this first day of your hike on the Inka Trail - it is a relatively easy section and serves as good training for the next few days. The hike takes you past extensive rivers and through a small village. Enjoy the view of the picturesque mountains - it's just a foretaste of the days to come.

Hike on the Inca or Lares Trail: Hike on increasingly spectacular and steep terrain up to Warmiwañusca (aka Dead Woman's Pass), the highest point of the hike, at 4,198 metres above sea level. Be prepared for the extreme weather of the Andes (scorching sun or cold wind) on the pass. Take the hike slowly and drink plenty of water on the way - you will be rewarded with a fantastic view. Once you arrive at camp, you will have plenty of time to relax and unwind; most hikers arrive in the early afternoon.

Hike on the Inca or Lares Trail: On the last full day of your hike on the Inca Trail, you will cross two passes and pass more ruins. Cross Runquraway at 3,950 metres above sea level and then reach the second pass at 3,700 metres. On a clear day, you can see the beautiful Cordillera Vilcabamba and the Urubamba Valley in the distance. Spend the night in camp either at the ruins of Phuyupatamarca or Wiñay Wayna.

Hike on the Inca or Lares Trail: You set off at 03:30 in the morning to reach the Sun Gate before sunrise. At the checkpoint, you wait with the other trekkers until the gate is opened. Enjoy the first glimpse of the breathtaking ruins of Machu Picchu (fingers crossed for a clear view). Hike down to Machu Picchu (approx. 45 min.) and take part in a 1.5-hour guided tour of the site. Afterwards, time to explore on your own. If time permits, you can hike to the Inca Bridge (15 min walk one way) at no extra cost. After your visit to Machu Picchu, hop on the bus outside the gate, which will take you to Aguas Calientes in 25 minutes, where you will meet your CEO and the rest of the group. Here you will have time to eat and relax before taking the train back to Cusco in the evening.

Journey through the Altiplano plateau to Puno on Lake Titicaca.

Enjoy a guided tour of Lake Titicaca. Overnight stay with a host family. Boat trip across Lake Titicaca. Visit the community on Taquile Island and savour a local lunch with breathtaking views. You will then travel by boat to another village where you will spend the night with a host family on the shores of the lake (the location of the host family may vary depending on the availability of the community). This experience gives you the opportunity to learn more about rural life in the Peruvian highlands and take part in local traditions. Eat meals with the family, learn a bit of Quechua and Spanish, try on the local costume and help out with everyday tasks in the village.

You visit the floating islands of the Uros. Optional visit to the tombs of Sillustani. We leave the host families in the late morning and pay a visit to the Islas Uros on the way back to Puno. A popular optional activity in Puno is a visit to the spectacular chullpas (tower buildings used as burial sites) of Sillustani, a pre-Inca archaeological site just a short drive away.

Cross the border into Bolivia. You spend the last night in the highest town in South America. Anyone need an oxygen bottle? Enjoy a full-day drive around the lake and through the Altiplano plateau to La Paz. Bolivia offers countless breathtaking views of the landscape. La Paz is almost 4,000 metres above sea level. So be prepared for cool evenings and mornings. Border crossing (Peru - Bolivia): Time for another stamp in your passport. Pack your bag and cross another country off your hit list.
