From the volcanic landscapes of the North Island to the snow-capped mountains of the south, New Zealand is a magical land of wilderness and wonder. And our NZ Adventure group tour takes you through the best of it and more!

In 17 days, we'll show you the highlights of both islands, including some off-the-beaten-track adventures, and then offer you full onward travel support. Explore Auckland, walk through the real Hobbiton film set, experience traditional Maori culture, watch the stars and discover underground caves. Then fly south to navigate misty fjords, go on incredible hikes, jetboat through breathtaking landscapes and much more.

Oh, and did we mention that you'll be experiencing all of this with a great group leader and a new group of friends? The adventure of a lifetime just got even better.

Auckland - Arrival and meeting with the group

Kia ora! After landing in Auckland, we'll meet you at our centrally located hostel to get you settled in. Tonight you'll meet up with the rest of your travel group and look forward to all the adventures that await you on your journey through New Zealand!

Rotorua - Waitomo Cave and Hobbiton

We leave Auckland and set off to discover the best of the beautiful North Island. Our first stop is Waitomo, home to the world-famous glowworm caves. We explore this surreal, subterranean landscape by boat and watch in awe as the glowworms light up the darkness. We continue on to Hobbiton, the real-life film set used in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies. After a stroll through the enchanting village, we enjoy a drink at the Green Dragon Inn before travelling on to Rotorua.

Rotorua - Discover the city

The first item on the programme is Kerosene Creek, a naturally heated hot spring where we can spend the morning. Next up is one of New Zealand's greatest geothermal hot springs, Wai o Tapu, with its dramatic geysers and bubbling mud.

Rotorua - Immerse yourself in the history of the Maori

Enjoy some free time this morning to try out exciting activities such as zorbing or skyline tobogganing. Tobogganing. In the evening we visit the Mitai Māori and get an introduction to the Māori culture - it doesn't get more authentic than this!

Taupo - We go sailing

Get your cameras out, because we're travelling to Taupo, a town right on the lake in the heart of the north. Tonight we have something special on the programme - a cruise across the lake. The majestic landscape will impress us.

Taupo - waterfalls and adrenalin

This morning we'll visit the epic Huka Falls, an ice-cold waterfall thundering down from the Waikato River. After experiencing the raw power of Mother Nature, you'll have some free time to go skydiving or do one of the highest bungee jumps in the world!

Wellington - We are travelling to the capital

Today we're travelling to the vibrant capital of New Zealand, Wellington! Immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere of the city by visiting the cosy cafés, enjoying delicious dishes in restaurants or simply enjoying the relaxed evening atmosphere.

Start your day with a city orientation tour, taking in the highlights of New Zealand's capital city! Ride the famous cable cars for panoramic views and then immerse yourself in the fascinating history and vibrant culture at Te Papa Tongarewa Museum - one of the best museums in the world.

Christchurch - We fly to Christchurch

After exploring the North Island, it's time to fly south! A short inclusive flight will take you to Christchurch, where you'll reunite with your travelling party and we'll set off on the exciting adventures that lie ahead.

Discover the vibrant city of Christchurch, where history and culture can be found on every corner, before enjoying the breathtaking beauty of Lake Tekapo!

Lake Tekapo - The Southern Alps

Today we will hike up Mt John, from where we will have a 360-degree view of the Southern Alps before soaking our tired muscles in hot pools.

Wanaka - Aoraki/Mount Cook

We enjoy a scenic drive through the Southern Alps to Tekapo. Lake Tekapo is known for its milky turquoise colour and is an alpine oasis! In the afternoon we will stretch our limbs by hiking the famous Hooker Valley Track. This walk takes us through the valley and offers unforgettable views of Aoraki/Mt Cook, the highest mountain in New Zealand.

Wanaka - We discover the town and its surroundings

Today we see the highlights of Wanaka, including a kayak tour on the stunning Lake Wanaka and discover the famous Wanaka Tree. Later, we'll hike up Mount Iron, from where we'll take in breathtaking views of the surrounding area, including the Pisa Range, Upper Clutha Basin and the mesmerising Southern Alps.

Queenstown- We discover the city by the lake

Today we are travelling to the beautiful city of Queenstown. For those participating in the NZ Intro Work Add-on, later this afternoon our team will make sure you're all set for living and working in New Zealand and ready for our NZ Jobs Programme. If you don't want to work in New Zealand, you'll have free time to explore the great city further or treat yourself to a (or more ;)) cocktails.

Queenstown - We're off to Milford Sound

Today we leave Queenstown and make our way to the majestic Milford Sound. We'll hop on a boat to sail around the fjord and navigate our way between sheer cliffs, ancient forests and cascading waterfalls.

Queenstown - Jetboating

Today we show you the breathtaking Queenstown with an orientation walk. The good news is that our first adrenaline rush is not far away, as this afternoon we'll be travelling through the canyons on a jet boat at over 80 km/h. Tonight we meet for the last time for our farewell dinner.

Yes, many of our participants are travelling alone. When you join our trip, you immediately become part of a group and have the opportunity to meet other adventurers. It's a fantastic opportunity to make new friends and share unforgettable experiences together!

You can secure your tour with a deposit of 200 EUR. The balance is not due until 45 days before the start of the tour. However, if you book within 45 days of the tour start date, the full tour price is payable immediately. This means you can plan your trip flexibly and look forward to your adventure!

If you make an enquiry, we will then contact you by phone to discuss all the details for preparing the offer. For example, we will clarify whether you need a flight offer and discuss all the important travel topics with you. You will then receive a personalised offer from your travel consultant by email. This ensures that all your wishes are taken into account and that you are well informed.

After your booking, you will receive a tour confirmation and your flight documents if you have booked the flight through us. You will be given access to a packing list and to online groups where you can exchange ideas with other participants. Your tour guide will contact you around 2-4 weeks before the start of the tour and provide you with final details about your journey and the start of the tour. This way you are well prepared and can network with your fellow travellers in advance.

As the group participants are travelling from many different countries, the flights to and from the tour are booked individually and are not included in the tour price. You can arrive at any time on the first day of the tour. However, a welcome dinner is planned in the evening, which is why you should be at your first accommodation before 6 pm if possible so as not to miss it. The airport transfer after the end of the tour is not included in the price, as many participants travel on individually within the country. We recommend travelling with a rucksack and packing light! 10-20kg should be enough. It's usually quite hot and it's no fun lugging around a huge suitcase. You can do your laundry or have it done for little money in most accommodation.
However, if you prefer a suitcase, that's no problem. You are also welcome to travel with a trolley or suitcase. The important thing is that you feel comfortable and can transport your luggage easily.
