Landing in Morocco! The land of sunsets, home of the tajine and known for its crazy markets and breathtaking views. We start in Marrakech! Once you've arrived at your hotel, you'll have the day to look around, get to know the group and head out to get your first taste of Morocco. Whether you want to visit the leather workshops, the markets or just find somewhere to drink tea and people watch (when in Morocco, right?), your travelling ninja (aka your new best friend) will be on hand with tips for your first day. In the evening, you'll all meet up as a group, get to know each other and find out who's the best photographer in the group!
Good morning, TruTravellers! Today is our first full day as a group and we're checking out the hotspots of Marrakech with our local guide! We start at the Jardin Majorelle, which is an Instagrammer's dream. It was created in 1922 and bought in 1980 by Yves Saint Laurent, who wanted to save it from being turned into a hotel. Thank goodness he did, because it really is a special place to visit! After taking a group photo at all the famous places, we head to Jemaa el-Fna, the main square in Marrakech. You've probably already seen photos of this place with its bustling market stalls. The markets in Morocco are unique, so dust off your bargaining skills ... Let's go shopping. In the evening, we'll have dinner together overlooking Jemaa el-Fna - it looks even more incredible at night!

We leave the bustling city and get our first taste of more remote Morocco. There's a long journey on the programme today, so stock up on snacks (Oreos at the ready!). The views on this journey are going to be AWESOME! We'll be travelling through many incredible valleys and stopping at some fantastic viewpoints too. The last stop of the day is the Monkey Fingers Valley - a really great place to end the trip! Once we arrive in Boumalne Dades, we enjoy the views, drop our luggage off in the epic rooms and then head to dinner together at our hotel in Boumalne Dades where we can sample more Moroccan delicacies - did someone say 3 course meal?

Our first stop today is the Todra Gorge, one of Morocco's must-see places. The gorge looks like something out of an Indiana Jones film, but luckily no huge boulder is chasing us today ... at least none that we know of ... After exploring the gorge, we head on to our next destination - Merzouga. This is what we've all been waiting for - we're heading into the desert! We have some time to chill out in the afternoon. Your tour guide has plenty of suggestions, whether you want to go exploring on foot or just relax near the hotel, you're spoilt for choice. Luckily, the Sahara is only a short walk away... we're literally talking a few minutes here - get ready for a gorgeous desert sunset!

Firstly, we start the day relaxed, sleep in, go for a swim and take it easy! Then we get ready for an awesome sandboarding experience in the middle of the desert. Do you know what the best thing about today is? It's definitely our overnight stay in the sand dunes - and we get there by camel (way cooler than Uber!). We drive to the campsite, meet the locals who put us up for the night and settle into our temporary, magical home! After a super busy and exciting day, we get ready for an evening of good food, drumming (of course...) and lots of stargazing. Trust us - you've NEVER seen stars like these!
Don't forget to pack a travelling bag for our night in the desert! You don't need much, just the essentials and a few spare clothes for the morning :)

Did you sleep well? Of course you did! After a night in the desert, we'll have a breathtaking morning, watching the sunrise and pinching our arms thinking it can't be real! What could be better than getting back to basics with a night in the desert, surrounded by great people and even greater views? Unfortunately, we can't stay here forever, so we make our way to our next stop: Ait Ben Haddou. It's an iconic landscape that has been used in countless famous films and series such as Game of Thrones. So get your camera ready to take some epic photos tomorrow...

It's an early start today because we're travelling to the heart of Ait Ben Haddou! This fortified village was the filming location for Game Of Thrones, The Mummy and Gladiator. It's a great place to spend an hour strolling through the pretty alleyways and between the castle-like buildings. Then it's on to our next epic location, and this is not a drive to take a nap on! Check out the stunning views as we cross the Tichka Pass and take some great photos along the way. We told you Morocco was a photographer's dream! We arrive in Imlil in the afternoon and enjoy the views and the sun from our fantastic hotel!

Whether you fancy a shopping spree in the medina, a visit to the spa or simply relaxing on a rooftop terrace overlooking the marvellous chaos - today it's up to you! Your group will meet in the evening and you'll get an overview of the second half of this fantastic tour!
Good morning! We got up early to go to Rabat! This is the capital of Morocco and a beautiful city on the coast. We arrive around midday and will spend the day learning all about the local culture and exploring the hotspots. We will also visit Rabat's UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Kasbah of the Udayas. This place is a photographer's dream with its white and blue architecture and winding alleyways leading to the cutest cafés and restaurants.

This morning we take the express train to the coastal city of Tangier. We get up early to savour our time here to the full. This place on the coast feels like another world compared to our starting point on the first day. We visit the Cave of Heracles, where legend has it that Hercules rested after his „twelve labours“. Not only does this cave have a connection to our favourite hero, it also has an opening that looks exactly like the African continent - you have to see it to believe it! We then go on a Kasbah tour, where our guide tells us all about the local history and takes us to a great viewpoint from where we can see the Strait of Gibraltar!

This morning we leave the coast behind us and head inland to one of Morocco's most famous destinations, Chefchaouen. Once we're there, you'll see why this place is on every traveller's bucket list... It's just beautifully blue.
We set off straight away on a tour of the city. Our local guide leads us through the winding, labyrinthine alleyways, which are painted in every imaginable shade of blue. You will learn how this tradition came about, discover hidden treasures and stop at some of the best photo spots in the city.
We end our tour in the heart of the medina, where you have time to explore on your own, shop or drink a mint tea while watching the hustle and bustle.

Chefchaeouen
Today we have a whole day in the Blue Pearl! Today is all about experiencing Chefchaouen just the way you like it. Want to stroll through the beautiful blue streets? Go ahead. Want to try a local workshop, buy handmade souvenirs or just relax with a mint tea and watch the world go by? You can do that too! In the late afternoon, we meet up again and make our way to the best place in town to watch the sunset. The view up here is simply marvellous, with the whole blue city lying at our feet - the perfect end to our stay in Chefchaouen.
Today we're making our way to the cultural capital of Morocco: Fes! But first we have a super cool stopover planned. We visit Volubilis, one of the best-preserved Roman archaeological sites in North Africa. Much better than a motorway service station! After spending a few hours learning about the history and exploring this impressive site, we'll head back to Fes, a city full of history, colour, chaos and the biggest medina you've ever seen.

Fez
Today we have a whole day ahead of us in Fès! Believe us, this city doesn't do things by halves. We'll explore the narrow streets of the medina and enjoy this UNESCO World Heritage Site! Did you know that it is one of the largest car-free places in the world? In the afternoon, we visit the Madrasa Bou Inania. With its intricate carvings and impressive architecture, it is an absolute must-see!
We also stop by the famous Nejjarine fountain in the centre of the medina.
We then explore the pottery district, stop by a weaving mill to see how beautiful fabrics are made and, of course, we have to visit the famous tanneries.

Fez
Today we swap the narrow streets of Fes for the modern hustle and bustle of Casablanca. It is Morocco's largest city, and the first thing we do is check out the Hassan II Mosque. This is one of the largest mosques in the world and is located right by the sea - simply magical! We then stroll along the Corniche, Casablanca's seafront promenade, and visit Mohammed V Square. At the end of the day, we explore the Houbous district with its traditional markets, colourful streets and lively cafés. It's the perfect place to spend our last evening together after a fantastic time in the north of this incredible city.
