Arrival possible at any time. Spend the first day of your trip exploring the capital of Ecuador. In the evening, there will be a meeting with the group at the hotel. Your opportunity to meet the CEO and your fellow travellers and find out more about your trip. Decide on a subsequent dinner with the group on site. Please check the notice board in the lobby (or ask at reception) for the official time and place for the group meeting.

Drive to Tena in the Amazon jungle and continue by truck and boat to a community in the jungle. Overland journey to Tena, which lies on the edge of the Amazon rainforest. From there we continue by truck for 45 minutes to the local community of Pimpilala, where we will spend 3 nights. You will stay with a Quichua family, experience the hospitality of these wonderful people and experience life in the jungle first hand.

You will explore the animal world, stay with a host family and learn a lot about life in the jungle. During this homestay in the Ecuadorian Amazon region near Rio Napo, you will learn about traditional ways of thinking and customs. You will stay with a Quechua family near the community of Cando. They have already given many visitors an insight into their completely different way of life, allowing you to see life from a new perspective. You can take part in many great activities here. Hike through the rainforest, bathe under waterfalls and learn how to use tropical plants. Visit a shaman, experience local traditions and learn more about the history and culture of the Quechua people.

Journey to historic Cuenca. Ecuador's third largest city, Cuenca, has retained a beautiful small-town atmosphere with its colonial architecture, art galleries and museums. The surrounding countryside offers numerous opportunities for outdoor activities. Visit national parks, hike through the beautiful countryside and visit Ecuador's only Inca ruin site. Explore the city's sights such as the cobblestone streets, red-tiled roofs, art galleries, flower markets, shady plazas and museums.

Today you can visit the impressive sandstone archaeological site of Chan Chan, take a photo at the yellow colonial church or drive to Huanchaco to spend some time on the beach. Visit the ruins of Chan Chan: Hop in a taxi and visit the ruins of Chan Chan, the capital of Peru's largest pre-Inca empire, 5 kilometres outside the city of Trujillo. Abandoned around 1470 after the conquest by the Inca army, the city today comprises a 5,000-hectare site of eroded mud bricks.

A full day in Trujillo, then overnight bus to Lima. Free time, do as much or as little as you like before getting on the bus in the evening. Travel along the breathtaking coast of Peru to the oasis of Huacachina, where you can go sandboarding on the desert dunes while watching the sunset.

Wake up and make the most of your time in Huacachina before continuing your adventure to Nazca. In the morning you have time for an optional excursion to the Ballestas Islands, which are home to a lively colony of sea lions, pelicans and other birds. Later, take a bus to Nazca. Stop at a pisco cellar on the way and sample the country's national drink!

Enjoy a full-day tour into the Colca Canyon. Optionally, you can visit the local thermal springs. Look forward to an overnight trip to the impressive Colca Canyon - one of the deepest canyons in the world. We stop in fascinating villages and at „miradors“ (picturesque viewpoints) where visitors may be lucky enough to spot Andean condors circling above the majestic Andes. Other unusual animals that can be spotted in the Andean landscape include three different types of camel: Alpacas, llamas and vicuñas.

Go in search of the majestic condor. Return journey to Arequipa. Hop out of bed early to visit the viewpoint from where you can watch condors in flight. We travel from the town of Chivay to a condor viewpoint to admire these magnificent birds in the air. On the way back, we stop at some local villages and viewpoints to see ancient terraced fields and sections of the Colca Canyon, the deepest canyon in the world.

Make your way to the Sacred Valley today and visit the women's weaving workshop supported by G-Adventures in the municipality of Ccaccaccollo. Learn more about weaving and get to know the adorable llamas. If you see a knitted piece you like, buy it - a perfect souvenir of your trip. Stop off at a brewery on the way to Ollantaytambo and sample a craft beer.

Travel by minibus from Ollantaytambo to km 82, where the hike begins. Hike through a beautiful landscape with diverse fauna that changes depending on the season. You will pass various smaller ruins such as Llactapata. A crew of local porters, cooks and guides will take care of all the details during the hike. The porters carry most of the equipment. You only need to strap on a small daypack with water, rain gear, snacks, camera, etc.

We set off early for the steep ascent to Warmiwañusca, better known as Dead Woman's Pass. At 4,198 metres, this is the highest point of the hike. Most hikers reach the camp in the early afternoon and then have enough time to relax and rest (or similar).

On your way, you will cross two more mountain passes and pass ruins. The first pass is the 3,950 metre-high Runquraqay, from where hikers can enjoy a view of the snow-covered Cordillera Vilcabamba on cloudless days. Hike through the cloud forest to the second pass of the day. The gently ascending path leads through original Inca buildings. The highest point of the pass is 3,700 metres above sea level. On cloudless days, you can enjoy the spectacular view over the Urubamba Valley from here. At an altitude of 3,650 metres, you will reach the ruins of Phuyupatamarca, the „city above the clouds“. You can either pitch your tent here or continue one and a half hours further to the Wiñay Wayna ruins at an altitude of 2,650 metres (or similar) (or similar).

The last day of the hike begins at night so that we can reach the Sun Gate at sunrise. The alarm clock rings at around 3.30 am, after which we hike to the checkpoint. On cloudless days, you can enjoy the first view of the breathtaking ruins of Machu Picchu from here. Hike down to Machu Picchu and enjoy a guided tour of the site and time to explore it on your own. Optionally, you can visit the Inca Bridge if you have time. Take the bus to Aguas Calientes, where you will meet your CEO and the members of your group who opted out of the hike. Here you can eat and relax before taking the train back to Cusco in the afternoon.

Journey through the Altiplano plateau to Puno on Lake Titicaca.

Enjoy a guided tour of Lake Titicaca. Overnight stay with a host family. Boat trip across Lake Titicaca. Visit the community on Taquile Island and savour a local lunch with breathtaking views. You will then travel by boat to another village where you will spend the night with a host family on the shores of the lake (the location of the host family may vary depending on the availability of the community). This experience gives you the opportunity to learn more about rural life in the Peruvian highlands and take part in local traditions. Eat meals with the family, learn a bit of Quechua and Spanish, try on the local costume and help out with everyday tasks in the village.

You visit the floating islands of the Uros. Optional visit to the tombs of Sillustani. We leave the host families in the late morning and pay a visit to the Islas Uros on the way back to Puno. A popular optional activity in Puno is a visit to the spectacular chullpas (tower buildings used as burial sites) of Sillustani, a pre-Inca archaeological site just a short drive away.

Cross the border into Bolivia. You spend the last night in the highest town in South America. Anyone need an oxygen bottle? Enjoy a full-day drive around the lake and through the Altiplano plateau to La Paz. Bolivia offers countless breathtaking views of the landscape. La Paz is almost 4,000 metres above sea level. So be prepared for cool evenings and mornings.
