Here you can get to know your CEO and your fellow travellers and find out more about your tour. Afterwards, you can join the group to enjoy a local meal together. Don't forget to read the announcement in the lobby (or ask at reception) to find out the official time and meeting point of the group.

Travel from San José to the coast to the town of Quepos, which is located right next to Manuel Antonio National Park. Enjoy a few days in the area with plenty of time to explore and relax on the beach.

The small town of Quepos is located on the Pacific coast and this region of Costa Rica is a great place to relax and enjoy the sun and the nearby sea. Not far away, the Manuel Antonio National Park offers beautiful white sandy beaches and warm turquoise waters, ideal for swimming, fishing, kayaking, boogie boarding, sailing or surfing.

Spend the afternoon getting your bearings or head to Manuel Antonio National Park and go to the beach.

Villa Romantica Quepos (or similar)

Discover the lush tropical forests and white sandy beaches of Costa Rica's smallest national park. Hike through the dense forest, climb on rocky outcrops to enjoy the view of the glittering Pacific Ocean and swim in the park's beautiful lagoons and tidal pools. Later, you can enjoy your free time on the beach. Optionally, you can go on a kayak tour through the mangroves or take a surfing lesson.

Visit to the Manuel Antonio National Park

Manuel Antonio 5 hours 3 km

Pack your sun cream, snacks and beach shoes and get ready for a great day out in Costa Rica's smallest but no less impressive national park. Manuel Antonio offers four white sandy beaches separated by jagged rocky outcrops and tidal pools where you can swim, snorkel and sunbathe. When you've had your fill of the beach, head to the shade of nearby hiking trails in search of sloths, monkeys and armadillos. Climb up to the viewpoint to enjoy the view of the pristine Pacific Ocean and the offshore islands.

Today's walking route within the park is 3 kilometres and takes about 2-3 hours.

Enjoy your free time in Quepos. You can optionally book a catamaran experience. In the afternoon, travel to Monteverde and into the cool mountain air of the region. On arrival, you can settle in and relax in peace.

Later in the day, you will ascend to the cloud forest region of Monteverde. Spend the next few days exploring the town and a cloud forest reserve, a true paradise for birdwatchers. This unique community has several co-operatives that are well worth a visit.

Enjoy a free day to explore the cloud forest region of Costa Rica. You can fly over treetop zip lines, admire the work of local craftsmen or visit a coffee plantation. Take part in a guided night hike in the cloud forest to learn all about nocturnal life.

There's plenty to see and do in Monteverde, and we wanted to make sure you had enough time to take it all in. Just relax or try out optional activities such as ziplining, visiting the suspension bridges and horse riding.

Explore a little more during your free time in Monteverde this morning. Then travel on to La Fortuna. Enjoy your free time for optional activities such as relaxing in the local hot springs.

La Fortuna, the town at the foot of the Arenal volcano, is a great starting point for adventures. Over the next few days, you can hike along the area's nature trails, swim in La Fortuna's cool waterfall or go canyoning (abseiling) and enjoy a bird's eye view of the green forest landscape.

Optional activities include full-day whitewater rafting on the Sarapiqui or Peñas Blancas rivers, mountain biking, horse riding or a tour through the Caño Negro wildlife reserve. Like much of Costa Rica, this area is also a paradise for birdwatchers, with over 600 species living here permanently. After a long day of exploring, you can finally relax in the Baldi Hot Springs.

Enjoy an included visit to a coffee co-operative supported by G Adventures with a local lunch before heading to a jungle oasis in the Sarapiquí rainforest.

Visit a coffee co-operative in the small village of San Miguel de Sarapiquí and take a traditional coffee tour. Enjoy a local lunch here - they even serve fresh tilapia from their own farm - and then visit the cooperative's premises to learn more about the coffee process from bean to cup.

Find out where your cup of coffee comes from. Visit the Mi Cafecito coffee co-operative in San Miguel de Sarapiquí, see the shade-grown coffee plants and learn all about harvesting, hulling, drying and roasting the beans before enjoying the best part - a fresh cup of coffee! Enjoy a typical lunch of plantains, beans and freshly caught tilapia fish. Enjoy all this food and drink with a clear conscience, because you are supporting a G Adventures for Good project that helps 200 farmers and their families.

Your culinary moment: cookery demonstration

Get your hands dirty with cornflour and learn how to make delicious tortillas, tamales or empanadas, which are staples of most Latin American cuisines.

Hike for birdwatching

Wake up and head into the Sarapiquí rainforest to discover some of the more than 400 bird species that are native to this region. Led by a local guide, you'll keep an eye out for rare species and learn tricks to spot birds hiding in the wild.

Drive to Tortuguero. Optionally, you can visit the nesting sites of the green sea turtles and leatherback turtles at night (seasonal).

Travelling to Tortuguero is half the adventure. Hop on a private minibus and end the journey with a boat trip.

Tortuguero is a fantastic place to observe wildlife, even when it's not turtle season.

Enjoy your free time to explore Tortuguero. You can kayak through the canals and observe the wildlife, get up early and go to the beach to watch the turtle eggs hatch (seasonal), or simply stroll through the town.

Drive to Puerto Viejo de Talamanca. Enjoy the late afternoon in this Caribbean jewel and explore the village or the nearby paradisiacal beaches.

A morning boat trip and car journey ends in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, with spectacular scenery along the way. This coastal town is perfect for relaxing!

The picturesque village of Puerto Viejo de Talamanca with its 14 kilometres of incomparable white and black sand beaches is surrounded by exotic tropical vegetation.

Hop on your bike and ride to the beach with our CEO. Enjoy a whole day exploring this paradise in Puerto Viejo. In the evening, you can choose the best spot to watch the sunset and don't forget to try the fantastic Afro-Caribbean cuisine.

Get on your bike this morning and ride with your CEO to a nearby beach. You'll spend the whole day exploring the area around Puerto Viejo and enjoying the scenery.

Enjoy the morning at leisure before returning to San José for the last night with the group. Take the bus over the mountains back to the capital.
