You will explore the diverse destinations of La Fortuna, Sarapiquí, Monteverde, Santa Teresa and Manuel Antonio.
Each day offers a mix of adventure, cultural immersion and relaxation. This trip takes you from a tour of a sloth and wildlife sanctuary to days spent hiking, relaxing on the beach or ziplining through the forest. Bienvenidos! Welcome to Costa Rica. On arrival in San José, our team will greet you at the airport. As you are transferred to your first accommodation in the trendy suburb of Escazu, you can feel the anticipation of the next 12 days. Escazú is known for its lively atmosphere and breathtaking views of the Central Valley and provides the perfect backdrop for the start of your adventure.
On your first evening, enjoy a welcome dinner in a charming local restaurant and savour traditional Costa Rican dishes such as gallo pinto and patacones. Get to know your fellow travellers over dinner, with whom you will explore the beauty of Costa Rica.

Today you leave the province of San José behind and head to the incredible Poás volcano, one of the most active volcanoes in Costa Rica. Hike to the crater rim where, if you're lucky, you can see gas escaping from the centre. For those looking for more adventure, there is an additional section that leads to the edge of the lagoon, where the bright blue water contrasts with the surrounding rugged landscape. On the way back, you'll pass the entrance to the La Paz waterfalls and get a glimpse of the fourth and fifth waterfalls.
Later, you check into your accommodation - a sustainable stay in a tropical rainforest lodge. End the day with a cooking class on a family farm, where you'll learn traditional Costa Rican recipes from a wonderful local family. In the evening, you can stay up late to watch the famous red-eyed tree frogs with your new travelling companions.

Today you will meet the most relaxed creatures in the world, the sloths, at the Proyecto Asis Wildlife Rescue Centre. The Proyecto Asis is dedicated to the protection of wild animals and the conservation of the environment. During the tour, you will learn all about these curious species and can observe them in their natural habitat. After experiencing the sloths in the treetops, the tour continues to a local coffee and chocolate farm. This is a small, family-run coffee and cocoa plantation where we will meet the family and hear their story.
After a late lunch in the picturesque town of La Fortuna, you can end the afternoon with a variety of activities, including a ziplining adventure through the treetops, a visit to the La Fortuna waterfall, a dip in the El Salto swimming pool and on the rope swing, or a relaxing afternoon in the natural hot springs surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of this unique destination.

As there is so much to experience, you can organise the first half of the day as you wish! Hike through national parks with views of wildlife, lava rock or lakes and volcanoes. Keep your eyes peeled for toucans, coatis, sloths and other smaller animals, soar through the treetops on a zipline tour or refresh yourself under a nearby waterfall. There are several national parks to explore in the surrounding area. We therefore offer a pick-up service to help our guests choose their favourite activity. In the afternoon, we drive to a local natural beauty spot to relax in the raw natural hot springs and re-energise for the next day's adventures.

Today's programme includes a trip by car and boat to the mystical cloud forest of Monteverde. The journey alone is an adventure. On arrival, you will check into a rainforest refuge - the only one in the national park. Get ready to learn about the biodiversity of the cloud forest. When night falls, you set off with one of the rangers for a walk through this enchanted world. Discover tarantulas, snakes, sloths, birds, toucans and a variety of other wildlife. End your evening with a cup of hot chocolate from the region. Delicious!

It's time to grab your work gloves and help the rangers maintain the lush hiking trails in the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Earn double eco-points by attending some ecological lectures before and after your trail management volunteer work to learn about sustainability efforts in this stunning world reserve.
In the afternoon, you can either observe various wild animals, such as the shy quetzal and playful monkeys, or relax in the nearby Hummingbird Café, which is just a 5-minute walk from the lodge. For those who haven't had enough of adrenaline activities, now is a good time - Monteverde offers suspension bridge walks, zip lines, rope swings and even bungee jumps.

Drive the winding mountain roads down to the Pacific Ocean for the ultimate relaxation experience. On arrival, enjoy the breathtaking views of the coast and feel the warm sand between your toes. On the way, we'll stop at the mesmerising Paquera Bay to take part in a guided sea kayak trip, helping to clean up the ocean of plastic waste and make a positive impact on the environment. We then continue our journey until we reach the lively coastal town of Santa Teresa. After a fulfilling day, you can relax in your accommodation, which is just a 5-minute walk from the beach and has a pool to relax in. Watch the sun set on the horizon.
*Please note that basic paddling skills are required for the kayaking activity. For those who are not comfortable kayaking, there may be an alternative option.

As you have no plans for most of the day, you can devote yourself entirely to the beach. Learn to ride the legendary waves in a surf lesson or simply laze on the beach and work on your tan. For those who want to end the day quietly, there is an optional sunset yoga session near the beach.
If you fancy more adventure, tonight you can take part in an incredible bioluminescent night kayak tour or a full moon tour, depending on the month. Please note that this tour involves a 1.5 hour ride each way, but it is a truly unique experience.

This morning you take a ferry across the bay to the legendary Manuel Antonio National Park. Keep your eyes peeled for marine life on the way! We'll make a few stops before arriving at your accommodation in the eco-village.
While you're relaxing by the pool, keep an eye out for monkeys in the trees. There is a local bus service right outside the hotel that can take you to the beach, for dinner or to watch the sunset. For those looking for a bit of adventure, small hiking trails behind the hotel offer the opportunity to spot wildlife, including birds and frogs.

Spend another day in the Manuel Antonio area and enjoy the natural beauty. As one of Costa Rica's most famous nature reserves, you have access to the Manuel Antonio National Park, which you can explore at your leisure. Dive into the jungle while swimming and explore the evergreen forests in search of cosy sloths and mischievous monkeys. Enjoy the beaches, hike along the trails and observe exotic birds and monkeys in the park. The afternoon is free for you to relax or explore further. A bus will take you back to your jungle hotel at any time.

Explore winding rainforest trails, glide through tranquil mangrove waterways, relax on pristine beaches or take part in an optional yoga class. In the afternoon, head back to lively Escazú via picturesque mountain roads. End your Costa Rica tour with a farewell dinner and raise a glass to new friendships and unforgettable experiences.
