Hello and welcome to Mexico City! We will pick you up at the airport and take you to our accommodation where you can relax before meeting your group.
Today we explore the historic centre of Mexico City, which is bursting with colour. We gain an insight into the Aztec empire and learn more about the history of the Spanish conquest. Passing sights such as the cathedral and the Zócalo, we have free time to explore the city and even listen to a mariachi song. In the evening, we enjoy a traditional dinner and a show together.
After breakfast, we drive to the beautiful city of Puebla, which is surrounded by four of Mexico's famous volcanoes. This is the perfect opportunity to learn about the history of the region. After lunch, we continue our journey to Oaxaca, where we explore the enchanting streets by moonlight.
Today we will lose ourselves in the vibrant, colourful markets, marvel at breathtaking cathedrals and fully immerse ourselves in the authentic local atmosphere. After our day of exploration, the adventure continues with an overnight stay to enjoy the delicious culinary specialities of Oaxaca.
We visit a local family and learn how handmade textiles are made. Next, we visit a traditional mezcal distillery to learn more about this spirit and have a sip before travelling on to Tehuantepec.
We'll hop on a boat to explore the huge Sumidero Canyon and discover waterfalls, jungle valleys, monkeys and crocodiles! We will then make our way to San Cristobal de las Casas, where we will enjoy a city tour, a Pox tasting and dinner.
We visit a local family in the small town of Zinacantán and then drive to the other town, San Juan Chamula, to explore it. Back in San Cristóbal, you'll have time to explore the markets and try the very mild Chiapas coffee.
Today we board an all-inclusive flight across Mexico and land in beautiful and chic Cancun.
This morning we take the ferry to the paradise of Isla Holbox. We will have time to acclimatise to the pace of island life, enjoy authentic food, watch the sunset and moor up for the night at a beach bar.
This morning we take the ferry to the paradise of Isla Holbox. We will have time to acclimatise to the pace of island life, enjoy authentic food, watch the sunset and moor up for the night at a beach bar.
We swap the slow island atmosphere for something energising and check into our hotel in Playa del Carmen. We have plenty of time to explore all the beaches, bars and tacos that this world-famous hotspot has to offer. Who wants to buy a souvenir?
Today we make our way to one of the new seven wonders of the world - Chichén Itzá. A local guide will show us these iconic ruins, including the Temple of Kukulkan („El Castillo“), the Platform of the Skulls and the Plaza of the Thousand Columns. Later we will experience the crystal clear waters of a cenote, a natural limestone cave in a secret underground world.
This morning we make our way to Tulum. We have the opportunity to marvel at the archaeological ruins of Tulum or relax on Tulum beach. Back in Playa, we have time to get ready before dinner.
We leave Playa behind us and head south to the Yucatán Peninsula. Our first stop is Bacalar, the lagoon of seven colours. We enjoy a boat trip at sunset and glide over the turquoise-coloured water before cooling off with a swim.
Today we cross the border to Belize, where the second largest barrier reef in the world is located. We take a short ferry to Caye Caulker. We meet at sunset, when the stingrays emerge and swim between you.
Grab your snorkels as we make our way to Hol Chan Marine Reserve, which is teeming with a vibrant underwater world. Dive into the warm waters to explore colourful fish, vibrant coral reefs and graceful rays, and keep an eye out for manatees. You can enjoy fresh Caribbean cuisine for dinner.
Today you can explore the island at your own pace. You'll probably want to head to a beautiful beach or the famous „split“, a natural chasm created by a hurricane and the perfect place to swim. Caye Caulker is the definition of relaxation, so you can laze in a hammock, go paddle boarding or snorkelling even more.
We leave the Caribbean coast of Belize behind us and stop for lunch in a Mayan village to prepare a traditional feast and learn more about their rich heritage. We then cross the border into Guatemala and check into our hotel on the island of Flores.
Hidden deep in the jungle, the archaeological site of Tikal bears witness to the glory of the mighty Mayan civilisation. We visit the „Mundo Perdido“ (Lost World) pyramid and the Temple of the Great Jaguar with local guides.
Today we are travelling a longer distance as we head south into the highlands. The good news is that we will break up the journey with a tour of the fabulous 80-kilometre-long Candelaria Caves. Back under the sun, we continue to Cobán, a colourful town in the middle of the mountains.
This morning we get into four-wheel drive vehicles and drive into the highlands. We cover the last stretch on foot and hike through the jungle to breathtaking blue pools with bright green algae. We have the whole day to float down the river in rubber tyres. We arrive at a Mayan house where we have a traditional lunch.
Today we head south and stop in Chichicastenango, a centre of indigenous Mayan traditions and home to one of the largest markets in Central America. Later we arrive in Panajachel, directly on the shores of the breathtaking Lake Atitlán.
We take a boat across Lake Atitlán to San Marcos for a swim. We then travel to San Juan, where we stay with a Mayan family. We eat together and learn more about their lives.
It's an early start, but it's worth it! We hike to the summit of Mayan Face Mountain in the moonlight. At sunrise, we enjoy a breathtaking view of Lake Atitlán over hot cocoa. We then have breakfast with local families before setting off for Antigua.
Today you have some well-earned free time to explore the colonial city of Antigua. Start the day with a leisurely breakfast in a cosy café before strolling through the parks, churches and markets.
Today we will climb one of these volcanoes, which we have already admired from afar, with a local guide. It won't be easy, but the experience will be incredibly rewarding. We ascend and reach our campsite above the clouds as the sun sets and the air thins. As night falls, the Fuego volcano will mesmerise us with its lava flows.
As soon as we have left the volcano, we can freshen up and have some time to explore. Then it's time to get dressed up, because we'll be spending one last evening together with dinner and drinks.
Your adventure ends today. Those flying home will make their way to the airport or extend their stay in Guatemala with our help.
