The new and best way to travel the east coast of Australia!
The east coast of Australia has everything to offer and we'll make sure you get to know it properly. We'll explore Byron Bay with its laid-back surfer and backpacker vibe, and drive the world's largest sand island (K'gari / Fraser Island) by 4x4. You'll snorkel the Great Barrier Reef off Cairns, see koalas up close on Magnetic Island and see the incredible Whitsunday Islands TWICE, once by boat and once from the air on a spectacular scenic flight over Heart Reef. It really is something special.
This is just the beginning. This semi-guided tour (details in the FAQs) will ensure that you and your new travelling family experience the best 30 days on Australia's east coast.
Please note: This tour leaves Sydney on the first day, in the evening in the direction of Byron Bay. Today is the day you meet your tour leader and get to know your new travel family for the best 4 weeks of your life.
At the welcome meeting, we'll get to know each other and go through the itinerary for your adventure on the East Coast, answering any questions you may have to make you feel as relaxed and excited as possible.
We then make our way to a cool "secret meet up", followed by a welcome dinner, our first meal as a tour group! That evening we take the night bus to our next stop, beautiful Byron Bay.
With its beautiful beaches, epic surf, great food and good vibes, Byron Bay is on every traveller's bucket list.
You will go on a tour of "the bay" with your tour guide before celebrating your first night in the city with a meal together.
The next 2 days are entirely up to you - that's the beauty of our type of trip. Some in your group may want to go surfing, do yoga or just chill on the beach. Everyone is different, but whatever you want to do, our guide will be able to help you.
The dusk of your second evening will be spent on a breathtaking sunset kayak trip on the river, ending at the pub. The last evening in Byron Bay will be a team night - what a great start!
In Byron Bay we stay at the incredible Surf House, which is only 100 metres from the beach and has a bar on the roof.
From Byron Bay, you'll travel up the coast as a group without your guide. But don't worry, beforehand your guide will hold a special session to help you for the rest of your time in Australia.
Your next stop is Surfers Paradise, where you will spend the night in the best hostel on the Gold Coast.
Here you have time to go to the beach or visit one of the many theme parks that we are happy to organise for you! From the Gold Coast, the journey continues to the capital of Queensland, Brisbane.
We want you to experience new things in new places that you may never have heard of, and that's what today is all about. You'll spend the day in the beautiful Tamborine National Park, where you can enjoy incredible views, swim in secret waterfalls and go wine tasting. And not only that: you'll also see glow worms, how cool!
Noosa is a popular holiday destination for travellers, but also for Aussies. To be honest, Noosa is as perfect as life can be.
Like Byron Bay, it has beautiful beaches and great gastronomy, but there is also a national park just 500 metres from the town. This national park is home to the famous Fairy Pools.
We have the best tips on how to explore the national park and the rest of Noosa and where to find the best sunset spots.
We're committed to making sure you stay in the best hostels, and here we're staying at Bounce, a brand new hostel just minutes away from the turquoise river, which is great for swimming. Noosa itself is not only stunning, but also not far from one of the two Everglades National Parks. Guess where we're going next?
After Noosa, we have organised a lakeside stay for you at Habitat Noosa. Here you'll stay together in cabins surrounded by kangaroos every night. You can grab a kayak or paddleboard and head out on the lake or relax on land with a beer in the on-site brewery.
On your second day in the habitat, you'll be lucky enough to experience the Everglades National Park, first on a boat trip and then by canoe. Both tours take place on the spectacular River of Mirrors. Don't worry, it's not far to the canoe and everything you need is provided!
K'Gari (meaning paradise) is the traditional name for a place you may recognise as Fraser Island. The largest sand island in the world is one of the most popular places on the east coast for travellers like you.
We explore the rainforest, sand drifts and freshwater lakes (photo above: Lake McKenzie) on a 4WD tag along tour in a jeep so we can see every part of the island. We stay on the island as a group before returning to beautiful Rainbow Beach. As it's the perfect beginner beach on the coast, we can book a surf lesson for you here!
We want you to experience the best things to do on the East Coast, and the Whitsundays is one of them. What's better than experiencing the Whitsundays once? Experiencing them twice! Of course, we'll make sure you get to know the Whitsundays on a fantastic day trip by boat, where you can snorkel in pristine waters and visit Whitehaven Beach. But before that, we'll take you on a truly unique experience: a 60-minute scenic flight over Heart Reef. Yes, that's included!
You may never have heard of Magnetic Island, but it's a real Welcome to Travel favourite, check it out! After so many activities, this is a great place to relax and re-energise before heading on to Cairns.
There is no better place to relax than "Maggy", home to many wild koala bears and wallabies. On Magnetic Island you can do the famous Forts Walk, hire kayaks and snorkelling or... Barbie Cars. Of course we can help you with all these things 🙂 .
And just like that, you have travelled almost 3000 km and are now a real travel family.
To celebrate, you'll spend an incredible day on the Great Barrier Reef, where you'll go snorkelling with Nemo. If you want, you can also go diving! Afterwards, toast to the best month of your life at your farewell dinner.
There's so much to do in Cairns, it's THE place for backpackers. From white water rafting and rainforest excursions to bungy jumping and skydiving, we can help you book all these things to do in Cairns.
In Cairns, you can stay at the famous Gilligans Resort, which has a pool and a bar.
There are some things we offer because we know you just have to do them. That's why we've already included so much. But there are also things that only some people want to do. Whilst you might like to learn to scuba dive, you might not like heights, but the person next to you in the dorm doesn't like water but loves jumping off things! Everyone is different and that's exactly what we want to do: encourage you on your journey to have the best experience possible. We can help you with all those extras, that's what we're here for. Not only that, but we have special offers and discounts to match! Some examples: Skydiving, bungee jump, scuba diving (snorkelling already included).
When you're travelling, you're on the road a lot and sometimes you just need some time for yourself. With our semi-guided travel style, you get exactly that: all the activities, the group atmosphere and the accommodation, but still some time for yourself.
You will undoubtedly want to spend some of your free time exploring your home country. You might want to visit a national park in one city and go to the pub in another.
As we keep saying, everyone is different, and that's what makes travelling so great: you're constantly having new experiences with people who are so different from you. Because everyone is different, people spend their free time in different ways and that's why we give recommendations, advice and local tips for every kind of mood, for every type of person.
